I call on the Commonwealth government to replace the Carer, Disability, Jobseeker and Sickness payments with a new Universal Basic Income (UBI).
This initiative can be funded with an additional levy or tax on corporate profits which exceed a set annual threshold.
This will also reduce the administrative burden on government agencies and allow human rights to be centred for all recipients of these payments.
