The issue of domestic violence in Australia has increased attention of late with government funding and associated programs which aim to prevent violence.
I recommend the Attorney-General’s department website for additional information and fact sheets on coercive control and its harmful impacts on different communities.
These communities include disability and LGBTIQ+ groups where human rights are centred and personal choice is respected in accordance with anti-violence laws.
I particularly recognise gay and queer men who experience hate and violence directed against them for simply being their authentic selves.
