I call on the Tasmanian government to support local LGBTIQ+ communities and legislate to ban conversion practices and associated therapies in Tasmania.
These practices are a gross violation of human rights and cause significant harms to all people involved.
A model Act is operating successfully in Victoria and I encourage Premier Jeremy Rockliff to replicate it with deference to Tasmania’s needs.
